The Midnight Channel

Inside the Midnight Channel, there was a completely new dungeon that appeared out of nowhere. It was different to all the other dungeons as it wasn't just one dungeon, but multiple! The dungeon was switching back and forth between images of what it may have been: A Victorian castle, a coliseum, the streets of a small town, a prison, and even stranger areas like the coastline of Philadelphia and The Kennedy Space Center!

But this dungeon would most likely be destroyed by the events that were about to unfold. A battle between two men of strong resolves and great power.

Out of the doorway leading to his dungeon was a young man with silver grey hair and eyes, silver glasses, a black jacket, white shirt, and black pants. All the man held was a sheathed katana in his hands. But this was no normal man; this was the Wild Card, Yu Narukami.

In spite of the fact that the murders in Inaba had stopped and the fighting tournament incident was also stopped, Yu felt that somehow his time in Inaba was not going to be entirely safe. He had seen through the Midnight Channel recently of the presence of...someone. He couldn't fully describe what he saw through the T.V. that day but the vague appearance of a tall man wearing a cap. Apart from that, there was nothing else. Yu had decided to find out this problem on his own. He didn't want any of his friends to get into this. Yu felt that this was just something he had to do alone.

Suddenly, the dungeon stopped shifting altogether and permanently took its final form of the nighttime city streets of an unknown location. Looking around, Yu could not tell where he was, as everything was written in some language he didn't understand, but he knew by its appearance that it was some form of Arabic. The streets were empty and the sky showed that it was, strangely enough, nighttime. Yu looked around before he heard the footsteps of someone coming towards him...

Looking directly at the figure coming at him, Yu could already tell who this was. The figure was a tall man in a dark blue trench coat-like school uniform, a red sleeveless shirt, a large chain connected to the collar of the trench coat, blue pants, dress shoes, dual multi-colored belts, and the most noticeable, a large cap that looked almost as if it were part of his head. His face showed off a stoic look that ironically enough, also seemingly said: "Don't fuck with me." The man simply stood feet away from Yu with his hands in his pockets, seemingly not caring of what would happen next.

Jotaro Kujo had no idea how he ended up in this place, but all he knew was that he could feel a power here. Something akin to a Stand, but stronger in a way. And now he found the source of it within this boy he was facing. He didn't know if he was a danger or not but he wasn't going to ensure that something of this power to escape from here. Looking directly at Yu, his eyes narrowed at him before he adjusted his cap and gave a look of determination at Yu.

Yu could feel the power emanating from Jotaro, knowing that this man, while not as powerful as the greatest foe he faced in the past, would nevertheless be a great danger for him. Giving a similar look of determination, Yu unsheathed his katana and threw his sheath behind him, ready for battle.

The battle between Stand and Persona was on.

FIGHT!!!

Yu and Jotaro stood for a few seconds in silence, carefully planning out their next attack. It seemed as though that Jotaro opted for a direct move. Rushing forward with his hands still in his pockets, Jotaro struck out at Yu with his fist. Yu managed to evade the punch in time before swinging his katana at Jotaro. Jotaro himself dodged in time and struck out once more. Another dodge and Yu swung once more, missing Jotaro's head barely and slashing a bit of his cap. Jotaro then delivering a slug at Yu's head, only for the Wild Card to dodge it once more. Yu finally found an opening near Jotaro and swung his sword, ready to end this...

Only to be propelled back several feet by the force of something powerful. Landing on his feet, Yu looked at his opponent before his eyes open wide to see what he facing.

Standing near Jotaro was a tall humanoid creature with blue-green skin, wavy black hair, shoulder plates, a loin cloth, and gauntlets on its hands. The expression on its face showed that this thing was ready to fight. And as a show of intimidation to his opponent, Star Platinum crashed its own fists together to show that it was not messing around before yelling out a single word:

ORA!

Yu did not know what this thing was. It was clearly not a Shadow, but at the same time, it didn't resemble like any Persona he had seen before. Whatever it was, it was strong. And he was not going to take on something like this without his own backup.

Jotaro watched with dispassion as Yu was suddenly surrounded by a blue light and a card began to float down near him. Yu suddenly grabbed the card and crushed it in an instant. Suddenly, a new form began to appear from the light...a tall humanoid creature wearing a dark black trench coat, a strange helmet, and wielding a spear. As it fully materialized, Yu gave a look of determination to his opponent as the Persona pointed its spear towards him as well in a battle stance.

Jotaro did not react to the summoning of the deity Persona. He only adjusted his cap and charged forward with Star Platinum. Yu stood his ground, ready for his own Persona to counter...

Until Star Platinum struck out with its fists.

ORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORA!!!!!!!!

Yu's eyes widened in shock as the blue humanoid struck at Izanagi with its fists. The only issue was that it was punching very, very, fast.

Millions of punches struck at Izanagi, who raised its spear to block the punches, but even then, the blows were felt by the Persona. Punches struck right into Izanagi, and into Yu as well, making him feel the force of blows that could break diamonds. A final punch finally sent Yu sprawling back several feet before he managed to stand his ground.

Looking back up, Yu decided that the best way to fight someone who was so good at close range was by using long range. Izanagi swung his spear at Star Platinum, launching a ball of electricity at the Stand.

Jotaro was surprised that the kid could stand up, but more at the fact that he blasted an energy ball at him. The descendant of Jonathan Joestar attempted to dodge, but the ball of electricity crashed into Star Platinum, who was attempting to protect his user. Unfortunately, once Star Platinum got the brunt of the shock, Jotaro himself felt the same. As he tried to maintain his stance, Yu took the chance to run at him...

...and perform a sliding kick simultaneously with Izanagi. Jotaro fell to the ground, but quickly got himself back up, just as Izanagi swung his spear at him, threatening to lop off his head. But thanks to his Stand's ability to protect him in every situation, Star Platinum took the chance to grab the spear, just as it neared Jotaro's face.

The personification of the Japanese deity and the personification of a young delinquent were now at a battle of tug-of-war over the spear, with their users simply standing afar watching. In a way, it was almost comical if it weren't a battle to the death. As the two entities fought for control, Jotaro himself came up with an interesting idea...

Star Platinum suddenly jerked the spear sharply, striking Izanagi at its helmeted face with the butt of the spear. It was enough to stun both Persona and user for enough time for Star Platinum to pull Izanagi in and deliver an uppercut, sending Izanagi and Yu flying as well.

As Yu got back up, he decided then and there that it was time to switch up his current battle strategy and go with someone else...

Star Platinum ripped up a large amount of the ground in front of him, and soon hurled it at Yu. Jotaro had hope that the kid was beaten down enough so that this would be the ending blow. It might have, had he not noticed the blue light surrounding Yu once more...

To the shock of Jotaro, the flying debris was suddenly engulfed in a blast of fire that scorched the rock into ash. Yu walked out once more, alive, and with a new surprise: in place of Izanagi, was a humanoid looking creature whose skin resembled lava and was wielding a sword engulfed in flame. Yu had brought out Surt.

Surt then continued its assault by firing a giant blast of fire at Jotaro. The Joestar descendant's eyes opened wide in shock at the wall of flame hurtling towards him. Quickly thinking, Jotaro willed his Stand to pick up a large truck and hurl it at the giant fireball coming at him in an attempt to protect himself. The truck had exploded in a fiery blast, sending large amounts of air and smoke across the dungeon. As Yu covered his own eyes, Jotaro took the chance to rush forward.

As soon as enough of the smoke cleared, Yu opened his eyes only to widen again as he saw Star Platinum try to strike down on him with a single fist. Dodging barely in time, Yu switched Personas once more in a blast of blue light. This time, Yu was accompanied by a twisted clock surrounded by gold angels. Norn had quickly responded by unleashing a large torrent of wind.

Jotaro struggled to stand as the gale forces of Norn threatened to send him flying. Not only that, but he could feel the winds even tearing his coat apart like saw blades. Commanding his Stand once more, Jotaro forced himself through the blasts of wind and let his Stand unleash a surprise...

Taking its chance, Star Platinum pointed its index and middle fingers at the Persona, and in an instant, the fingers extended and struck right into the clock of Norn, causing a noticeable crack. Yu grimaced in pain and backed way before falling on his knee. As he got up, Yu's eyes opened with a newfound determination as he decided that if two of his best Personas couldn't do this....it was time to bring out the big guns.

Surrounded by the blue light once more, Yu yelled out as he summoned one of his strongest Personas yet...

Jotaro's eyebrow rose as he saw the Persona that accompanied Yu...it was a young blonde girl in a blue dress. Jotaro was never one for laughing, but he almost felt a twinge of seeing this little girl being used as a weapon. Yu smirked silently, knowing that this change of tactic would be enough to distract his opponent enough for his next surprise. Yu had now commanded Alice's next spell, and with a brief glow of light, she casted Mind Charge and increased the power of the next attack that Yu would use. With this, Yu began his next move with another switch of Personas. With a great yell, Yu summoned what truly was one of his strongest Personas yet!

Jotaro's eyes widened as he saw what Yu summoned. A horrific winged demon surrounded by tattered bandages was on the battlefield. Yu had summoned Lucifer. The Devil itself was fighting on the side of the Wild Card. At first in shock, Jotaro decided to stare down the beast before scoffing. He had fought Stands that could alter time and space. This would be nothing...

Jotaro was then struck by the force of an entire blizzard as Lucifer blasted a volley of ice at the Joestar. Star Platinum was forced to rip up a large amount of the ground to create a makeshift shield in order to keep the icy death away. But even then, Jotaro could feel the ice and winds trying to rip through his coat and skin. Falling down to a knee, Jotaro was surprised to see the blizzard stop, just in time to notice the demon strike at Star Platinum.

Lucifer swung its own claws at Star Platinum, who had already put up its own arms into a defensive pose, leaving large scratch marks across its arms. Jotaro gritted his own teeth as his own arms bled, but he began to realize the difficulty of this battle as soon as the demon began to attack him many more times, each time damaging his Stand and himself more and more. Grimacing, Jotaro decided that then and there, that it was time to use his trump card.

Lucifer struck out once more...and then it began to slow down. Everything around the area was suddenly engulfed in a brief and shockingly fast blast of something. In an instant, everything stopped in its tracks. Lucifer was standing in mid-air, its claw prepared to strike once more. Yu stood away, standing perfectly still. Too perfectly...

Getting up quickly in a rush, Jotaro decided to take his chance now while time stood still to perform a counterattack. Rushing forward, Jotaro punched outward, striking Yu in the face.....and Star Platinum struck as well, nailing a large amount of blows into the demon.

By the time that the flow of time continued, Yu was sent flying back in horrific pain. He had absolutely no idea what the hell had just happened. In one moment, he appeared close to victory, but now he had suffered the blows of a million punches or more in an instant through his body.

Yu struggled to get up and tried with all the remaining power he had to raise his sword up.

Jotaro Kujo wasn't having any of that shit.

With a quick strike of his Stand's hand, the katana flew out of Yu's hands and with that, Jotaro began his final assault by using his own fists to strike at Yu. Once he felt that the Wild Card was beaten down enough, he grabbed his opponent by his collar and threw him up into the air. Once there, Star Platinum struck out with a devastatingly powerful haymaker.

It was time to end this.

"STAR PLATINUM THE WORLD!"

In another blast of quick light, time stopped as Yu was hanging in mid-air. It was time to end this.

Star Platinum roared with absolute rage and violence as it struck its fists into the body of Yu Narukamil. The last time it had struck with this much fury was against Dio Brando, and even then, the man survived due to being a vampire. This boy wouldn't...

With a final punch just as the time stop ended, Yu Narukami's broken and beaten body was sent hurtling into the steps of a building in a massive crash. Merely seconds after, Yu's body slumped downward...

Jotaro took in a deep breath, relieved that this battle had ended.

"Yare Yare Daze..." was his only response.

This boy...he was something else entirely, but it seemed that now that it was all over....

Yu Narukami breathed in harshly as he couched out blood. Yu swore internally at the turn of events and how that he was just left bleeding and dying. He had accomplished so much...he defeated some of the strongest Shadows that ever existed....he solved the murders of Inaba...he defeated the Reaper, cyborgs, and the best from the Velvet Room...he even defeated a GOD! He couldn't just lose...could he?

Yu's eyes began to lose the light of life as his mind began to fade away...It was all over....

"What are you doing?"

Yu's eyes began to slowly open up as he began to hear voices in his head. The first sounded so oddly familiar...

"You can't let it end this way! You got to keep going!"

"You got to be as strong as you need to be!"

"Please...get back up. Just once more."

"Let me protect ya!"

"Please stand up just one more time. We'll be your strength."

"Let's fight this together!"

"I'm not alone anymore! We can do things no one else can."

There were right. There were all right! It wasn't going to end like this at all! He had faced things much worse than this man and whatever power he had! He had saved the world from a mad god! He had done more! He had so many others he had to fight for! That was the absolute truth!!!

Jotaro turned back in shock as he saw the boy get right back up on his feet. It was impossible! The boy couldn't have survived! Such an attack like he did was enough to kill a man...

As soon as he shakily got himself up to his feet, Yu decided to do away with something...he pulled off his cracked glasses and hurled them aside. He no longer needed them. Not for what was about to commence.

Yu gave out a roar as he summoned his card once more and crushed it. In the brightest blue light, Izanagi appeared once more...but it suddenly began to morph and change into something more...something stronger than ever before.

In a blast of blinding light, Izanagi changed. It was now taller, as well as now white, sleeker, and now wielded a longer and sharper spear with a circular guard at its center. And from Jotaro's perspective, he could feel POWER emanating from it.

Izanagi-no-Okami had now arrived onto the battlefield. And Yu himself stood tall as if he no longer had any wounds.

Playtime was over.

[I'll Face Myself from Persona 4]

Jotaro rushed forward with Star Platinum, hopefully intending to finally finish off this kid once and for all. And to his surprise, Yu rushed forward as well. But he was only aiming towards something else. Sliding in time to dodge Jotaro, Yu grabbed his katana.

Jotaro stood confused for a few seconds before he realized what was about to happen. Izanagi-no-Okami struck with a triple slew of spells: a blast of fire, ice, and electricity struck right into Star Platinum and Jotaro, dealing heavy amounts of damage to both. Just as he tried to catch his breath, Yu slashed outward and struck right into Jotaro's leg, downing him to the ground.

It was time for the endgame.

With a final roar, Yu struck the sword right into the ground. Jotaro tried to command his Stand in order to perform a final time stop....

A blast of electricity raced across the ground, striking everything across the dungeon. Windows in the buildings shattered. Cars began to light up and activate their alarms. Jotaro and Star Platinum gave out similar yells of pain as the electricity raced through both. It was more than enough to throw his concentration and prevent his trump card from being used.

In a brief moment, the two men looked into each other's eyes, and it was there that both realized the endgame was coming.

Izanagi-no-Okami swung its spear in a glowing circle and instantly, the sky began to glow and thunder as if something massive was about to arrive. Not a storm but something more of biblical proportions.

Yu gave the final command to end the fight.

"Behold...THE TRUTH!"

A missile of energy struck from the heavens and raced down to the dungeon, intent of dealing a power akin to the wrath of a god on the field.

Jotaro saw the blast coming. He knew that he couldn't escape it, even if he used his time stop. Accepting his incoming death, Jotaro simply gave a small smile as he remembered his family and friends. Star Platinum attempted a final futile attempt to protect its user...

[MYRIAD TRUTHS]

A single blast of light engulfed the entire dungeon, blinding all those there. And then...silence.

As the dungeon began to crumble, only one stood victorious that day.

Yu Narukami stood still over the body of his defeated opponent as the dungeon crumbled away into nothingness. Taking in a final sigh of relief, Yu pondered over this battle. This man proved to be one of his greatest challenges yet, and he didn't use a Shadow or Persona. The more Yu pondered, he began to wonder if there were others like this man; men and women with powers that could challenge Personas like this.

In the end, he decided that it didn't matter right now. He was only glad that he was alive. He could settle that problem later. Silently thanking his friends, Yu sheathed the katana as Izanagi-no-Okami faded away.

The King was still at his throne, undefeated.

K.O.!!!

The Gentleman: Ha, I knew my boy would win.

Madness Abe: This was a close match, with Jotaro's single Stand being enough to tank through the many Personas that Yu could summon, while Yu himself was a better tactician and had more variety in his attacks.

The Gentleman: But Yu simply had too much variety in Personas, magic and abilities for Jotaro and Star Platinum to contend with. Outside his time stopping ability, Jotaro had a predictable move set, which Yu not only exploited, he was smart enough to empower himself with various spells to get a leg up over his opponent during the course of the match.

Madness Abe: Not only that, but Jotaro's own time stopping ability was not as entirely effective as it seemed. Unlike Dio Brando, who could also stop time as well, Jotaro could not spam it as it puts a strain on his heart and he would only use it sparingly or as a last resort. Not only that, but Star Platinum itself must always be near Jotaro or within a vicinity of 20 meters to be at its full strength. Personas lack such a weakness.

The Gentleman: And there's simply no getting around Yu's two greatest abilities... his resolve, which can bring him back from the brink of death... and Myriad Truths, which is a one-hit K.O.

Madness Abe: In the end, you could say that Jotaro just couldn't handle the truth!

The Gentleman: The winner is Yu Narukami.

(As Yu left the dungeon, he was still beginning to worry about the idea of others like the man he fought beforehand coming to Inaba or the Midnight Channel. He was wondering if in the case they did, would they be enemies or potential allies...Yu was still pondering this just as he saw another figure near the entrance to the Midnight Channel...

It was also another young man, closer to Yu's own age, but much different. The man had blue hair and eyes, a black jacket, white shirt, various buttons on the jacket, black pants, and a music player connected to his neck. The man also sported a familiar stoic and calm appearance, similar to Yu's own opponent. He was merely standing at the entrance with his hands in his pockets, very similar to the man he had fought, but he didn't look like a delinquent. He looked more like a school student. But he wasn't just that...

The man had not remembered how he had come forth to this place. He merely remembered things...a dark hour...being a statue....all sorts of bizarre things, but he awoke here and he felt as if....he was...destined to be here. As if something brought him here to settle something.

Yu looked at the man, ready for whatever would happen. The blue-haired boy gripped the pistol-like device in his pocket, ready as well...

Fate had brought these two together for a purpose: to settle a debate that had existed for years. A battle between two generations of Personas. These two had fought many things...but now it seemed they were brought over to end that feud.

A battle for everyone's souls would commence...
